Product Information

  • Detail View editable setting allows you to edit the field records from detail view itself.

  • A detail view normally displays a read-only view of a particular record, but this setting allows you to edit records directly from detail view instead of jumping to the edit view.

  • Usually, detail view  is accessed via the list view.

  • Normally to edit the field records user has to go to the edit view, but if the particular modules whose detail view records can be edited by the users are selected by the Admin user then only those modules detail view records can be edited.

  • Edit operation is performed by just double clicking on a particular fields record.

Problem Statment

  • Perform edit operation from detail view itself without the need to navigate to the edit view.

  • Assign the admin user the privilege to select the modules whose detail view records can be edited by the other users.

How to use

Detail view administration panel:

  1. Sign in as admin

  2. Select Detail view editable setting from Detail view administration panel

  1. From the detail view editable option select the modules whose detail view you want to make editable by the users.Click on save.

Detail view end user :

  1. Select a module for eg. Account

  2. Click on a record from the list view which you want to edit

  3. Detail view opens. Double click on any record and change the value.

  4. Changes get saved automatically.

Note: In the following example account module is selected by the admin user. Hence the detail view is editable by the user.
